Locker Lunch of Iron County Michigan

no child should go hungry

Have your children ever gone to bed hungry?

Well, there are many children in the Iron County Michigan Schools that do. During the week a meal is provided for them by the school, however, what about weekends?
Many Children struggle to have enough food between Friday afternoon lunch and Monday morning breakfast at the school. Locker Lunch strives to address this problem and provide lunch bags for these children, because no child should go to bed hungry.

We started Locker Lunch in October of 2011 serving 33 children at the West Iron Elementary school in Iron River, Michigan. Our goal has always been to serve both school districts in Iron County. In 2013 that became possible and we served 62 children that year. The numbers have gone up each year and fast forwarding 2020-21 we are serving 161 children weekly.

This year Locker Lunch has been fortunate enough to be chosen by the CoVantage Cares Foundation, a public charity established by CoVantage Credit Union, for their Giving Tuesday 2 week event. The 2 week event begins on December 1st and goes through December 15th, 2020. During this time Covantage Cares will match the dollars that we have raised. So make your donation count for more and help us raise funds for Locker Lunch.
