Each bag contains 10-12 items including 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, applesauce or fruit cups, juice or shelf stable milk, cheese and crackers and other various snack items.
Breakfast items may include: instant oatmeal, cereals, breakfast/granola bars
Lunch items may include: mac and cheese cups, rice boxes, soups, beenie weenies
All items are single-serve, individually wrapped and self-stable.
No. We depend solely on the generosity of our community and others. 99.9% of all donations go directly toward purchasing food. Because our team is fully volunteer-based, we have no salaries or overhead costs. Bags, warehousing, and distribution are generously provided by Dina Mia Kitchens of Iron River, Michigan.

We started Locker Lunch in October of 2011 serving 33 children at the West Iron Elementary school in Iron River, Michigan. In 2013, we accomplished our goal to serve both school districts in Iron County to include Forest Park Schools, bringing our total to 62 children served that year. The need has continued to grow annually, and as we move through the 2025-26 school year, we are now providing food to 135 children each week.
